Pre-Separation Brief

This mandatory TAP requirement is offered as a stand-alone session to provide additional opportunities for transitioning service members to start planning their transition early and to provide virtual learners the Pre-Separation brief. This class is not available on tapevent.org/courses. Pre-separation counseling must start no later than 365 days prior to transition. By law, pre-separation counseling covers information to include benefits, entitlements, and resources for eligible transitioning service members. Caregivers and spouses are especially encouraged to attend pre-separation counseling with their service member.
